Alice Springs families back anti-uranium medicos

A community group has also been voicing its concerns about the possibility of a uranium mine so close to town.
Isabelle Kirkbride is the founder of the Families for a Nuclear Free Future:
“It has been overwhelming how many people are concerned about this issue and I think the more people that get informed, the more concerns are raised,” she said.
She said she was not convinced the mine could be a good generator of jobs.
“Well, I’m not sure about that,” she said.
“I think the risk is too great.
“I just don’t think it is worth the risk.
“The health risks are too great and the social impact.”
