Remembering the atomic test victims of Emu Field and Maralinga

“The traditional Aboriginal Owners of the Maralinga Lands, South Australia, have given permission to allow former atomic test participants and their friends to visit the regions and to hold a Remembrance Day ceremony on Friday 11 November, 2011, to commemorate the nuclear disasters and service in memory of the event.

……..The Remembrance Day excursion on Friday, November 11, 2011, at the former nuclear testing sites of Emu Field and Maralinga, will be a considerable and challenging exercise for everyone wanting to get there for the eleventh hour commemoration, as the area is in a very remote part of South Australia.

………The commemorate ceremony will be held at the Maralinga Airfield terminal building or tarmac and will commence on the South Australian Central Time at the eleventh minute, of the eleventh hour, of the eleventh day of the eleventh month of the eleventh year. …..
