Small modular reactors must be filled with radioactive fuel, just like large reactors. They have things go wrong, and they melt down or blow up, just like large nuclear reactors do. Any machine built by man is subject to breaking or wearing out, and then what happens?

They emit radioactive heavy metal poisonous gases and liquids, just like large ones do.

Radioactive fuel such as thorium and uranium must still be mined, which then causes radioactive tailing piles, just like the large nuclear reactors.
