Queensland should be the Sunshine State – forget failed nuclear energy !

Sometimes you come up with some sensible topics, Keith, but this old chestnut of claiming the nuclear way as an option to resolve the energy dilemmas is pathetic, a real doozy.

If you had really done your research you would have found most European nations are phasing out nuclear power for security and unsafe storage reasons.

Even France – ever so keen on everything nuclear – is calling it a day now. Haven’t we got already enough unsafe mining sites all over Australia leaking toxins and god knows what into their surroundings?

I doubt Queensland’s former Mary Kathleen Uranium Mine has ever been cleaned up properly.

Nah Keith, we got enough toxic problems as it is with all the existing and abandoned mines, so why create new and more problems in this field?

Let’s focus on renewables and make the Sunshine State proud by generating increasing power from the sun.

If you are really so desperate about nuclear power, how about a trip to Fukoshima?

Or wait, you might not even have to travel there.

From what I heard, the radioactive side effects of Fukoshima’s overflow are now entering the global seafood chain so you can get a real taste for the “special hot stuff” once it gets caught on our shores.
