ANSTO quickly backtracks on crooked opinion poll

After this morning (26/10/09)changing the wording on its nuclear opinion poll, so that it changed results from “Against nuclear” to “in favour” of nuclear, viewer reactions caused ANSTO to rethink this blatantly dishonest (and rather stupid) strategy

Poll quickly reverts to original wording* due to direct online action and possibly threatened legal action. (*albeit with an ANSTO disclaimer about it reacting to an “unusual No vote”..) At the moment – poll results still showing “No” way ahead.

Below is ANSTO’s new wording and statement as of half an hour ago, on the ANSTO site

Should nuclear power be a part of Australia’s future energy mix? (A change to the ‘No’ option was made due to an unusual ‘No’ vote spike on 19/10/09 following publicity. This is reinstated. This poll will cease 31/10/09.)
