Former nuclear regulator named to Eastern Ontario health authority By pauline tam, Ottawa Citizen February 14, 2011 OTTAWA — Linda Keen, the former nuclear regulator who was fired from her job after running afoul of the Harper government, has been appointed to the board of Eastern Ontario’s health authority.
Until January 2008, Keen served as president of the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission, which shut down the nuclear reactor in Chalk River over safety concerns. The government said it had lost confidence in her and terminated her appointment.
Her removal was seen by opposition parties as political interference by the federal Conservatives.
