  1. Well done Marianne McKay. You are indeed a courageous woman. Yellow cake country is our past, present and future. My great grandmother travelled overland to the WA Goldfields in 1897 where the only water source for survival was the groundwater which they frugally utilised by crude condensing units.

Now the multi-national hit and run miners are plundering Mother Nature’s hazardous waste repositories in this country and leaving a toxic mess on the surface for present and future generations. A legacy of poisoned water, poisoned air, poisoned animals, poisoned people – the silent killers.

A pox on these ecocidal maniacs who believe they have a mandate to conquer Nature and desecrate our lands.

  2. Thankyou Marianne Mckay for speaking the Truth. More power to you Aunty!
It is obscene that support for toxic mining pervades every level and faction the Australian Government, especially con sidering the damage mining has already done to the Indigenous people of this Land and the Earth.
Now we have indoctrinated and politicized Aboriginal people, such as Mundine, Langton and Pearson, who have completely disconnected from their Ancestors, and the Spirit and Dreaming of this land, who now believe that the only way for Aboriginal people to gain financial security and independence is by selling off their Land and Culture for the sake of mining royalties and educational scholarships.
I just toured the South Australian mining operations with a Traditional Elder Uncle Kevin Buzzacott, and Nuclear veteran Avon Hudson, two amazing elders, who have challenged state and federal Government Policy and Multi-national Mining Companies.
Uncle Kevin told a poignant story by the fire at Lake Eyre, one of many, where he described the the invasion of Arabunna Land by the multi-national mining companies and how he watched his own blood-lines ‘take the carrot’ from the government and the mining companies. He went to on to say that most of the Aborignal people from his generation, that he knew and loved from many Mobs on his Country, who had ‘taken the carrot’ had all passed away prematurely.
So one of the only Traditonal Owners who has opposed mining on his Land, is one of the last Elders standing from his family lineage and his Mob.
Taking the carrot is not the only option, in fact it may just lessen and Aboriginal persons life expectancy.
