University of Adelaide pushing the false idea that nuclear power is “zero carbon”
The University of Adelaide has set up The Environment Institute – claiming to tackle some of the most serious environmental challenges facing Australia and the world. What a pity that this wonderful sounding think tank or whatever it is is looking very much like nothing more than a front group for the nuclear lobby.
Led by Barry Brook and Ben Heard, this pro nuke spruikfest is now claiming that nuclear power is “a zero-carbon generation source”
Well – it’s just not true. )and the diagram below doesn’t even include the carbon emissions from digging the burial places for nuclear wastes and dead reactors)
They make the statement on their Facebook page. Brett Stokes challenges them with this comment:
Warning to The University of Adelaide.
“nuclear power, a zero-carbon generation source”
This is a false statement.
The making of this statement amounts to fraud with malfeasance.
Please qualify or retract this statement immediately.

So it has now been 29 days that this false statement has been published here.

This is unacceptable behaviour by The University of Adelaide.
The persons responsible need to be identified and dismissed.

This fraud must stop. Corrective action is needed now.
I now warn The University of Adelaide.

I say that uranium mining is a crime against humanity and will be so recognised under law.
My mission is to expose the traitors to humanity who tell lies to be used as alibis to authorise the sacrifice of our children’s lives.

Who is Brett Burnard Stokes and why is he warning The University of Adelaide?
Brett Burnard Stokes holds an Honours degree in Maths Sciences, majoring in Applied Mathematics.
As a climate data specialist, Stokes is annoyed to see funds, intended to solve climate change, being diverted to support uranium mining and nuclear power.
As a graduate of The University of Adelaide, Stokes sees the value of his qualifications being affected by the reputation of the University.
Stokes says that the University’s reputation is diminished by Nuclear Advocacy Fraud, with the University recently publishing a false statement in the process of soliciting funds for local Nuclear Advocacy fanatics.
For 30 days, Stokes has demanded that the false statement be retracted and repudiated.
Stokes is also demanding that the individuals responsible be identified and dismissed.

I don’t lead the Environment Institute. I don’t have any formal role there at all. I have provided teaching at Adelaide University on a casual basis and the occasional guest lecture. I collaborate from time to time with Barry Brook. I am privately self-employed through my company ThinkClimate Consulting.
Christina you are promoting unsubstantiated rumours about “nuclear front groups” and what not, but you can’t even get the simple facts of my professional life straight. Since I am not a part of the Environment Institute then it really has nothing to do with me. But it’s still disappointing.
