Omigawd! A Senior Labor politician who is Not A Fan of Nuclear!

Albanese, AnthonyAlbanese ‘cautious’ on SA nuclear proposal  9 News 17 Feb 16 Senior Labor figure Anthony Albanese says he is “very cautious” about a proposed high-level nuclear waste dump in South Australia’s outback.

This comes after opposition leader Bill Shorten indicated he was open to a royal commission recommendation that SA earn billions of dollars and create thousands of jobs by storing and disposing nuclear waste.

But Labor’s infrastructure spokesman Mr Albanese appears more wary of the proposal, telling 5AA radio “I would be very cautious about it”.

“You should examine it and all the implications and there should be a community debate,” he said.

Mr Albanese also said he was “not a fan” of the nuclear fuel cycle and said renewable energies were more economically viable……… http://www.9news.com.au/national/2016/02/17/10/25/albanese-cautious-on-sa-nuclear-proposal#JtxocOdo0XoCmzd1.99

  1. A ‘possible’ scenario ..
Bill’s popularity rating for becoming a PM, is not high on the scale .. if it was decided (behind closed doors) that to have a spill of leadership was a ‘concerning’ move, BUT a withdrawal from politics due to ‘ill health’ could be acceptable with the public, and not seen as a ‘leadership spill’ .. Then enters Anthony Albanese ..
Seen to be not supporting Nuclear energy in any form .. let their (now) differing opinions dance in the public arena for a while to test the waters of public alliance to either Bill or Anthony .. thus gauging which way the Labor voters prefer to go with Nuclear … (Hopefully it’s a resounding NO GO) .. Bill ‘unfortunately must retire due to his illness’ and Anthony takes over the leadership to ‘save’ the day ..
Substitute your favourite Labor Pollie for ‘Anthony’
My favourite would be Tania Plibersek, she’s intelligent, articulate, attractive (apparently many people feel ‘attractive’ is important) and she has a very personable/charismatic charm .. therefore has a lot going for her both as a human being and a politician ..
    ps. double entendre intended..
