The Rationality of Questioning Nuclear Industry Vulnerability in times of War.

Is it rational to ponder the vulnerability to war of power grids, upon which nuclear reactors depend for safe operation (IAEA) ? Is it rational to ponder the safety of spent fuel pools in war? The safety of nuclear waste dumps and the safety of the movement of high level nuclear waste in times of war?

The Manager of the Australian research reactor claimed yesterday (12 March 2018) that spent fuel rod transport casks are immune from strikes by jet aircraft. I do not believe any such casks in use today are immune to an attack strike by any modern ground attack aircraft or missile designed, as most are, to penetrate the depleted uranium armour of modern tanks. A nuclear transport cask is vulnerable.

How likely is it that within the next 5 decades no nuclear powered nation will be attacked by an enemy nation?
