Don’t be fooled.   The Lucas Heights nuclear waste should be stored, according to internationally accepted protocol, as near as possible to the point of production.

Yet the nuclear lobby, ANSTO, and the Dept of Innovation Industry and Science, and Australia’s nuclear shills, such as “Brave New Climate” still pursue this toxic plan.

The Australian government’s plan is to to trek wastes  – Lucas Heights ‘ spent nuclear fuel rods  (high level wastes, not low level. short-lived medical radioisotopes)  all the way across the continent to store in quiet rural areas, such as Kimba .    They call it  “medical wastes”  –  a comfortable lie, that, along with financial bribes, helps to persuade the local inhabitants that nuclear waste dumping is going to be a better industry for the economy than agriculture.  They won’t be able to have both – once overseas buyers of produce get to hear about the dump.
