  1. Microgrids instead of ugly storm-vulnerable transmission and distribution networks sounds like a very good idea. It would be even better idea if they were UNDERGROUND.

    But how about reducing the DEMAND for electricity? For example:

    SOLAR hot water
    ENERGY EFFICIENCY
    ENERGY EFFICIENT buildings, especially homes.

    And while were at it, how about scrapping the idea that GROWTH is either necessary or desireable? Australia is a very wealthy country and a top per capita emitter of greenhouse gases. Let’s call a halt and work on more even distribution of the wealth that we already have.
