They’ve made us a target for China – and we are paying for it too. AUKUS will cost Australia $368 billion with no guarantee we will even get the submarines. The AUKUS Public Inquiry – the one Labor and the Coalition refused to hold – calls it the worst, costliest and riskiest defence decision in Australian history. Former Labor minister Peter Garrett released the report of a crowdfunded inquiry run by former prime ministers, foreign ministers and defence chiefs, after Labor and the Coalition refused a parliamentary inquiry. Freedom of information requests on where the nuclear waste will be dumped were refused.
