Regional movement to lobby for green energy
New group to promote regional green energy ABC News Central Victoria 14 Nov 09 Energy businesses and government representatives will form a national peak body to promote regional green energy projects.The new body will be set up after this week’s Futures Energy conference in Bendigo.
Conference organisers say there is an urgent need to roll out more sustainable energy sources in regional Australia.
Conference organiser and City of Greater Bendigo councillor, Keith Reynard, says the group will lobby state and federal governments to remove barriers preventing renewable energy generation.”The objectives of the peak body will be to work to look at the policy and the regulatory framework to see how that needs to change, to encourage the renewable energy sector,” he said.
