The material appeared without notice on ARPANSA’s website just hours before the agency faced questioning by the Senate Community Affairs committee as part of the latest budget estimates round.

Greens Senator Scott Ludlam asked why it took a media story to prompt the agency into releasing the overdue Australian Radiation Incident Register summaries.

“There was a report in The Australian on October 16 saying that in the past six years ARPANSA has only released one annual critical incident report, which was for the year 2004. You released it in 2007,” he said.

“We checked the website this morning and all of those reports are now there, four or five days later.”……….
