S.A. election: a word of warning about Aboriginal candidates

Aboriginal  candidates are standing in the forthcoming South Australian election. Sounds good, BUT – a word of warning.

WHAT ARE THESE CANDIDATES’ AGENDA ON THE URANIUM INDUSTRY?

Sorry – but,  I recall Maggie Thatcher’s dubious contribution to women’s issues. Being an aboriginal candidate is no guarantee of being properly  informed on the longterm impact on aborigines of uranium mining. And, there is scope for pressure and incentives from that industry, and from that pro-nuclear State government.

The candidates are Lynette Crocker and Dylan Coleman Mastrosavas, ANTaR SA is helping Lynette and Dylan to stand as ‘Independent SA Change’

(This site contains an informative video on France’s radioactive pollution. In French and Italian)

The safe French nuclear is a Government joke. Try and put the words France “nuclear accidents” into Google. You get about 28,000 results. Nuclear accidents in France are no longer news.

(France and Italy)  Nuclear dwarves, Beppe Grillo’s Blog 17 March 2010, “…….If the nuclear “picciotto” {rank and file mafioso} in Italy is Berlusconi, its instigator is Sarkozy. The greatest pusher of nuclear power stations in the world. And thus it is with joy that I read the news of the electoral collapse of the “Transalpine Carlànano”. One dwarf attracts another…. Sarkozy could lose in the whole of France at the second round…. Continue reading

Radioactivity is radioactivity, whether from uranium or from nuclear power

Now here’s a new slant on a wobbly word!  It’s “NUCLEAR” In the item below, we see the Parks authority reassuring us that the radioactive waste dumped in Kakadu National Park is OK, because, you see, it’s only radioactivity from uranium mining – it’s not from a nuclear reactor! Well, isn’t that reassuring!

Nuclear spin intensifies in lead-up to Obama’s Australian visit

the PR teams of the nuclear industry have been hard at work trying to make the idea of a nuclear future more palatable. The same sorts of spin doctors that once sang the praises of asbestos and denied any link between smoking and cancer
